More than 20 Americans die each day from skin cancer, primarily melanoma. Getting a bad sunburn before the age of 10 can give you up to a 50% chance of getting skin cancer as an adult. One person dies of melanoma almost every hour (every 62 minutes).
Rhonda Sparks started UV Skinz to raise awareness of this deadly disease after losing her 32-year old husband to skin cancer, just three days after the tragic 9-11 occurrence of 2001. We admire Rhonda for the work that she's putting forward after seeing what her husband went through. She's hoping that she can save lives after that ordeal. How great!
The reality of skin cancer touched Darren in 1996 when he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Darren stayed positive and lively for his three young boys, Ethan, Seth and Caleb and never gave up hope during his long five-year battle with the disease. Review: My son received the Taylor - Blue Tie-Dye Swim Shirt ($34.95). When we decide to hit the pool or go for a day at the park, I'm going to make sure that he wears this shirt.
