Recent research shows that, in the current economy, consumers are being more conservative about their back-to-school purchases with a greater focus on affordability. At the same time, a recent American Research Group survey found that 22.3 percent of consumers are planning to shop at Walmart for back-to-school items this year, up from 15.4 percent last year.
