Author Antwone Fisher Joins ReadAloud.org to Promote Family Reading at LA Book Fest

New York Times bestselling author and Hollywood screenwriter Antwone Fisher has had a wealth of life experiences. But he's never been interviewed by a talking goat.

Until now.

Hilda, the spokesgoat for ReadAloud.org, will speak with Mr. Fisher about his incredible life story and his new book, A Boy Should Know How to Tie a Tie: And Other Lessons for Succeeding in Life at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Sunday, April 25, at 1:20 p.m. on UCLA's campus in booth #036.

What does an animated talking goat have in common with a former Navy man and star author and screenwriter? Well, not very much... except that both Mr. Fisher and Hilda share a passion for families reading aloud.

Now Antwone Fisher is joining Hilda's cause of getting families to read aloud together every day. His books, including his memoir Finding Fish and his bestselling poetry collection Who Will Cry for the Little Boy?, make intriguing and worthy family reading choices.

Hilda the Read Aloud spokesgoat will interview Mr. Fisher about his astonishing and moving life story, his new book, and his passion for families reading aloud together. As a goat who does not know how to tie a tie, Hilda will also probe Mr. Fisher about National Tie a Tie Day on May 4, 2010, a day designed to inspire young men in particular to strive to fulfill their potential.

In addition to interviews with ReadAloud.org authors such as Mr. Fisher, Hilda will play reading games with children and families during the festival, compile a list of family read aloud favorites, and cheerlead all efforts to get families reading.

ReadAloud.org was founded in 2008 to encourage families to read aloud together and spread the message of the importance of reading aloud
