Eco Sprout was launched by a work-at-home-dad. He was seeking for a cloth diapering detergent that was not only ideal for diapers, but for his entire family’s laundry. It was important for him that the detergent would be non-toxic, natural, eco-friendly, and gentle for his boys’ bottoms. He also wanted to get rid of that strong ammonia smell that diapers had with other detergents. Eco Sprout was shortly born after experimenting for several months and doing extensive research.

Eco Sprout Detergent is free from enzymes, dyes, brighteners. SLS, phosphates, and is 100% biodegradable. This makes it extremely safe for cloth diapers and other types of clothing.

They offer the following scents:
Warm Vanilla Sugar, Ocean Breeze, Lavender Chamomile, Fresh Linen, Green Tea, In the Buff (unscented version), Vanilla Sandalwood, and seasonal scents that change each season.

The owner generously sent me the 24 oz Detergent in Green Tea ($7.98), which has a delightful, fresh and clean smell that isn’t overpowering in the least. I like this, because I love a detergent that has a scent. I’ve used some in the past that were barely noticeable, but that is not an issue at all with Eco Sprout Detergent.

I’ve used it on my family’s laundry, and I love how everything comes out perfectly – no stains at all! I’ll most likely be buying their detergent when Faelin, my daughter is born, especially since I’ll be cloth diapering. I’ll freely admit that I’ve used traditional brands that are laden with toxic chemicals. The more natural brands that I come across such as Eco Sprout, I want to get away from those other brands!

Eco Sprout Detergent comes in four different sizes:
96 oz bag (96 to 192 loads; $24.98), 48 oz bag (48 to 96 loads; $13.98), 24 oz bag (24 to 48 loads; $7.98), and 2 oz sample bag (2 to 4 loads; $1.75).

Their detergent is safe for all water types and is designed to work with both HE and conventional machines.

I also received the Bottom Balm+ 2oz Twist-Up ($12.95). This balm is not only ideal for a baby’s bottom, but it is also good for healing scrapes, windburn, sunburn, cradle crap, dry or chapped skin. By it being petroleum free and having natural ingredients, it’s safe to use for cloth diapers.

I specifically opted for this when Faelin is born, but I’ve tested it on my own skin to get an idea what it is like. I can easily see how it can heal minor skin problems, because I recently used it on a scrape and it healed perfectly in a matter of days. I like how it glides on the skin effortlessly without being sticky or waxy in the least. I also like that it’s made with all natural ingredients. I’m uber picky about what goes on my children’s skin as well as my own skin, especially since my son and I both have very sensitive skin.
