MY THOUGHTS: I was a bit apprehensive about using this foundation due to it having Argan Oil in it since I was afraid it would provoke a break-out. I was even a little more leery since this foundation goes on white, but it miraculously blended with my skin tone. While admitting that I felt consternation in the beginning, I'm glad that I took a chance at trying it out. This is the best foundation I've used in ages!

I love that it doesn't aggravate my skin, and that it gives me an ample amount of coverage. It's recommended that you buy their Argan Blend Concealer ($28) to get full coverage, but I honestly don't need it at the time being since it gives me the coverage that I need right now. However, I probably would have a different take if I were experiencing a breakout. Also, it looks very natural. I can't recommend this foundation enough!

Argan Illuminizer ($28) is an ultra light skin brightener with a hint of bronze, giving skin a radiant, luminous, lit-from-within glow that lasts all day. Argan Illuminizer works to eliminate dark circles and rejuvenate sleepy-looking eyes, while Argan Oil conditions and restores the skin. The universal bronze shade is perfect for any skin tone and all skin types.

MY THOUGHTS: It had been ages since I had used an illuminizer, but I believe I've found another winner! This is probably the best one I've used so far! I mix a tiny amount of it with the Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation . It gives my skin a natural looking and gorgeous shimmer without being overwhelming. I haven't been the least bit of disappointed.

I look forward to trying out more products from the Josie Maran Cosmetics line in the future. I wouldn't mind trying out the Argan Blemish Clearing Pads ($28), Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Sweet Citrus ($35), Argan Oil Moisturizing Stick ($22), and Argan Cream Blush ($22).

I received the bra and panties that are featured in the picture above, the Kardashian Kollection Smooth Everyday Strapless Convertible Bra with Diamante ($39) and Smooth Everyday Brief with Diamante Buckle ($25) in Nude/Gold (Also Available in Black/Silver). The look and quality surpassed my expectations. Therefore, I can easily understand why their pieces have been flying off the racks.

The bra that I received is available in a 32B - 36D, and the panties are available in a S - L. Both are utterly comfortable and flattering. I'd normally opt for Black, but the Nude/Gold is undeniably gorgeous. I'm very picky when it comes to lingerie, but I wouldn't mind having each piece from their Intimate Collection. Everything is sexy and flirty without pushing the envelope, which is a hard to pull off with lingerie at these affordable prices.

I'm helpless when it comes to adorable accessories. Therefore, I was glad to be given the opportunity to review the Merino Kids Baby Hat & Scarf ($34.99), which is made of superb quality of merino fabric that will keep the baby warm and dry. It is also allergy-safe, naturally fire resistant, and will absorb and remove moisture when your baby is hot and/or sweaty while keeping your child warm when it's cold.

The fabric is undeniably soft and luxurious. This makes it perfect for a baby's sensitive skin. To ensure the high quality of the fabric, it's recommended that you gentle wool wash at 30°C or hand wash. They don't recommend tumble dry, soaking, or bleaching.

I love that the set is simplistic in design, making it easier for it to go with numerous of outfits. The hat features an embroidered graphic that has a boy and girl outfit. I can barely make out of all the details, though. The design looks a bit worn out or simply uncompleted, which is no issue at all since it's a beautiful hat regardless. The scarf features a flap that will ensure ears stay covered by threading the scarf and a band. To avoid confusion, I must note that it's mentioned on the web-site that this set is one size, but the tag says newborn - 3 months. However, I read where one blogger said that this set perfectly fits her 15 month old.

I can hardly wait for my bambino to arrive this summer, because this is one of the first accessories that he or she will be donning!

My first box was beautifully presented in vibrant blue tissue paper. It included a block from Uncle Goose, Skin Free Sleep Tight Insomnia Pillow Spritz, Oh Baby - Baby Butter, StriVectin, and MiniDrops Lubricating Eye Drops. I haven't had a chance to sample out everything, but I really like the Skin Free Sleep Tight Insomnia Pillow Spritz. It has a pleasant lavender smell, and great for those nights when I have trouble falling asleep. I also really like the block, which I immediately gave to my son since he loves to play with blocks. I seldom drink soda. Therefore, I drink a lot of water, loose leaf tea, and juice. The sad thing is that many of my favorite juices are laden with sugar and calories. My New Year's Resolution was to eat healthier, but I guess it should to be to drink healthier beverages as well.

I recently received a coupon to try out a Tropicana® Trop50 juice of my choice. I wanted to try out their newest flavors, the Lemonade or Raspberry Lemonade. Unfortunately, no store in my area carried these flavors. My choices were either the Pomegranate Blueberry or Orange Juice with Some Pulp. I opted for the latter, even though the Pomegranate Blueberry was seemingly a popular choice, considering that most of them were gone.

I was half expecting their Orange Juice to taste watered down, but it tasted just as good as regular Orange Juice to my pleasant surprise. It's just not as thick, which is good since I usually buy light Orange Juice anyways.

Tropicana® Trop50 has 50% less calories and sugar than traditional juice. Plus, it doesn't contain any artificial ingredients. They're naturally sweetened with PureVia, an all-natural extract of the Stevia plant that enhances the flavor and sweetness. I'm still anticipating on trying out their newest flavors, the Lemonade or Raspberry Lemonade.

Eating right and exercising are straightforward, however, in comparison to paying off debts and socking away rainy-day cash. Of late, it feels like slipping on a Walmart sidewalk is the only feasible retirement plan; yet the top long-term goal cited in the survey was to make retirement a financial reality.

If solvency and savings are at the top of your resolution list, you'll want to give a gander at these 15 tips for 2012.

1. Cook It!

It's the same thing every noon: The gang troops out to pick up lunch from the nearest deli or eatery. Then they get home from work and order out for dinner. What a senseless waste of money! With restaurant prices on a five-year increase in excess of 26 percent, cooking at home is truly the way to go.

Spend a little time on Sunday (perhaps before and during the football games) to cook for the rest of the week. It's fairly easy to throw together a pot of spaghetti sauce that will translate into multiple meals throughout the week. Besides, one can only eat so much pizza.

Daily deals are everywhere, from Living Social to your local paper, and they're a great way to save on gifts, if you use your smarts. There are a lot of deals for spas, teeth whitening, restaurant meals, etc. that are so cheap it must pain the provider to provide these offers. Make sure you read the small print, however. You'll want to consider expiration dates and whether add-ons are included, like restaurant tips and desirable services that aren't included in the package.

Real moms and dads have used and tested their swaddling blankets, bumpers and bedding and have worked with them to fine-tune a flawless design. The mission of Go Mama Go Designs is to create practical products for moms by moms. They want to continue to design products that will help other moms, and dads appreciate the pleasures of parenting.

The Wonder Bumpers at Go Mama Go Designs should be on any expecting or new mom's wishlist. As an expectant mother myself, I believe that this is the safest crib padding around. Traditional crib padding has caused several unexplained infant deaths. Maryland and Chicago feel like warnings and cautions aren't enough. Therefore, they have proposed a ban on crib bumpers. Unlike traditional bumper pads, Wonder Bumpers securely hugs each rail with vertical padding, while protecting the head and body, increasing airflow, and inhibiting babies from escaping. They're also simple and easy to use, and come in a variety of soft, stylish fabrics. They fit most cribs, and can even be used on toddler beds!

I opted for the Bluebird 38 Set ($99), which is perfect for a boy or girl since I don't know what I'm having yet. I immediately fell in love with the vintage-esque design at first glance, more so when I received my package. The picture on the site doesn't do any justice for this beautiful set! It includes 38 bumpers, white minky sheet, matching crib skirt, and luxuriously soft toddler blanket. The white reversible side makes it a great bumper to create an all solid look or mix with other print sides, such as the Blue or Pink Damask. If you're looking for an even more simplistic set with a vintage feel, you may also like the Wishes of Winsdor 38 Set ($399), which is their most sought out design.

I've heard bloggers rave and rave about Earth Mama Angel Baby®, but I didn't know what was most of the hype about until I recently had the opportunity to try out the Pregnancy Essentials Bundle. I'm expecting baby #2 in the summer, and this has become one of my favorite brands! I haven't been the least disappointed with any of the products so far, especially the Happy Mama Hand to Toe Wash, Earth Mama Body Butter, and Natural Stretch Oil. I've found products such as the Happy Mama Spray and Mama-To-Be Tea Sampler to be a blessing, because I've been experiencing terrible Morning Sickness with this second pregnancy. It has mostly subsided in the last couple of weeks, but it sneaks on me when I least expect it. I bought their Tea Sampler at local vitamin store about a month ago. Therefore, I knew how effective the Morning Wellness Tea from the sampler was. As for the Happy Mama Spray, I carry it in my purse just in case the Morning Sickness hits me unexpectedly.

Their Mint Herbal Lip Balm is well moisturizing without being greasy or waxy in the least. Not all lip balm out there is great, but they certainly did it right! They have two other lip balms in their collection that I'd love to try someday, the Coconut Smoothie and Lavender Meringue ($3 for each).

I'll admit that I didn't know what most baby products entailed when I had my first child. However, blogging has helped me become more eco-conscious and aware of how products have an impact on our skin and health. Therefore, I will thrive on using the best baby products when my second child arrives.

I was recently introduced to Live Clean Baby, a baby product line launched by Live Clean Company. This line entails Moisturizing Baby Bath, Tearless Shampoo & Wash, Moisturizing Baby Lotion, Bar Soap, Diaper Ointment, Non-Petroleum Jelly, Soothing Relief Lotion, Soothing Relief Non-Petroleum Jelly, Soothing Relief Baby Wash, and Soothing Relief Diaper Ointment; each priced at $7.99. The packaging is simplistic, yet charming. While I haven't had full usage of the products (only sampled a few on myself), I can tell that they are high quality. So far, my favorite products are the Non-Petroleum Jelly, Moisturizing Baby Bath, and Moisturizing Baby Lotion. Each has a lovely, delicate scent.

Most people will appreciate the fact that their products haven't been tested on animals and don't contain animal ingredients. The ingredients are mostly derived from plants (98%) and free of the harsher synthetic chemicals commonly found in drugstore products, like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), diethanolamine (DEA), parabens, and phthalates.

Remember when an apple a day was all it took to keep the doctor away? While in the past we may have been able to ward off colds and flus by eating our fair share of fruits and vegetables, today that’s not enough. We know it’s important to keep our bodies strong and our immune system in top shape, however much of the nutrition is removed from our food by the time we eat it. This means we need something to supplement our diet and keep us healthy. More and more research is pointing to probiotics (friendly bacteria) as the answer.

So what are probiotics, why are they good for us and how do we choose the right kind? Probiotics are friendly bacteria and they’re so tiny that we need billions in a single dose to be effective. They keep our immune system strong and adding them to our daily routine is easy. Most of us don’t have enough good bacteria in our body, making us more susceptible to flus, colds and viruses. To add insult to injury, a run of antibiotics lessens the good bacteria even further. We’re reading more and more articles about the benefit of including probiotics in our diet. There’s definitely a trend to probiotic supplements as well as adding probiotics to all sorts of foods, not just yogurt.

But, not all probiotics are created equal, and it can seem very confusing. Their effectiveness can vary depending on the bacterial strains they contain, the way they are made and quality control in production. That’s why Bio-K+ probiotics are becoming the brand to rely on.

So what are Probiotics?

They are the good bacteria that crowd out the bad bacteria when our intestinal system is weakened by antibiotics, stress, poor nutrition or any other negative factor. Our body has 100,000 billion bacteria just in our gut, and we need more good bacteria than bad to be healthy, that’s why the CFU’s (colony forming units) for an effective probiotic are in the billions such as is the case with Bio-K+; we have them from 12.5 billion up to 50 billion in our probiotics.

What is the daily suggested amount of probiotics that I need as an adult?

The daily suggested consumption depends on your objectives. If you wish to maintain a healthy digestive system 1 regular capsule or ¼ to ½ bottle of fresh Bio-K+ is recommended. If you wish to strengthen your immune system, we recommend 1 strong capsule of 25 billion or ½ to 1 bottle of fresh Bio-K+ (50 billion). If, however, you wish to protect yourself against viruses, we recommend 1 to 2 capsules of extra strength capsules of 50 billion or 1 to 2 bottles fresh Bio-K+.

How do I select an effective probiotic?

As you know, probiotics are living microorganisms and must remain so to be effective, so quality control is critical. Also, you need to choose probiotics with recognizable strains, and you need to verify if the brand has clinical trials to prove its effectiveness. You also need to make sure that the clinical trials have been conducted on the finished product as it is sold in stores and not just on the individual strains in the particular probiotic formulation. Finally, make sure that the bacteria count is guaranteed at the expiry date of the product and not just at the production date.

Why is the enteric coating so important on the capsules?

Bacteria are proven to survive gastric acid and the bile salts of the stomach when the capsules have an enteric coating. If not enteric coated, the capsule and bacteria are destroyed in the stomach by the gastric acid and bile salts and they cannot be effective in the intestine.

Why is it important to verify the strains used in a probiotic?

The effect and efficacy of probiotics can vary depending on the bacterial strains they contain. Experts agree that the proprieties and performances of a probiotic product are specific to the strain of bacteria. Not all probiotic strains are alike. For example, in Bio-K+, the strains are L. acidophilus CL1285 and L. Casei LBC80R and this combination has been proven to be effective in published clinical trials available on the Bio-K+ website and Pubmed.

Are Bio-K+ probiotics for people with lactose allergies?

It is safe to use the soy and rice based Bio-K+ products for those who are allergic to lactose since they don’t contain any lactose product. Casein is a protein found in milk that a small segment of the population is allergic to. It should not be confused with L. casei, the special bacterial strain found in Bio-K+®. L. casei is one of the two active beneficial bacteria found in Bio-K+.

Do I get enough probiotics in my yogurt?

Since you have 100 000 billion bacteria in your intestine and you need more good than bad bacteria to be healthy, it becomes obvious that the concentration of friendly bacteria (billions per dose) is crucial to deliver a positive impact. Bio-K+ products do not contain any yogurt cultures. It only contains a 100% patented probiotic formula containing Lactobacillus acidophilus CL1285 and Lactobacillus casei LCB80R. The World Health Organization has compiled a strict list of bacteria that are considered to be probiotics and the bacteria contained in yogurt are not on this list.

Our Thoughts: Marsha and I had the opportunity to try out the Organic Rice
Fermented Probiotic, Soy Fermented Probiotic , and Extra Strength Probiotic Capsules .

We opted for these particular products since we're both lactose intolerant. I had read somewhere that taking probiotics will help lessen the severity of lactose problems. I'll admit that the idea of drinking "live microorganisms" made me feel a bit squeamish, but that passed after I first tried out the Soy Fermented Probiotic. I had never felt or looked healthier. I noticed a major difference in my skin, because it had a healthy glow. Also, the Soy Fermented Probiotic had a delightful taste. The Organic Rice Fermented Probiotic did not, and it did not agree with my stomach like the Soy Fermented Probiotic did. Marsha had never tried probiotics before and she really liked both products. We really didn't have much of an opinion of the capsules, though. I did get sick with a cold during my testing period, but my sickness didn't last long like it usually does. Perhaps, this could have easily been prevented if I had been taking probiotics much longer.

Before the holidays there was endless advice about setting a budget and sticking to a shopping list. Those who ignored the wisdom shared by experts will be in for a shock when credit card and bank statements arrive in the mail.

According to a Consumer Reports poll, six percent of us are still paying off holiday debts from 2010. That means any new purchases racked up over the past holiday season will inflate those interest charges and make paying down the old and new balances more difficult and expensive.

If the bottom line on your bills is looking ugly, it's time to get a financial-management makeover. Consider these tips for balancing your holiday debt:

1. Double and Triple Up

Multiply your credit card minimum payments two or three times to reduce the amount of interest you'll end up paying. Merely meeting the minimum means you'll never see bottom.

2. Now's the Time to Negotiate

Talk to your credit card company about negotiating a better rate on interest, fees and other expenses. If your interest rate is above 15 percent and they won't negotiate, it may be time to transfer much of the balance to a lower-cost card. Just make sure you pay off the debt before the interest rate climbs again.

3. Go On a No-spend Diet

Stick those credit cards in the freezer, if you have to, but do what it takes to avoid impulse shopping sprees. Better yet, give them to a trusted friend or family member for safekeeping.

At the Brooklyn bakery One Girl Cookies, owner Dawn Casale rewrites history - updating old family recipes with fresh flavors - and draws upon the past to present the treats in vintage jars, tins, and more. Santa’s not the only one who loves sweets; these unique gifts will make anyone’s holiday deliciously delightful, especially for a cookie swap!

Step 1: Choose Your Cookie!

Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Peppermint Filling

Makes 24 whoopie pies. Working time 30 min. Total time 1hr. 15 min.

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder

¾ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup light-brown sugar

½ cup plain whole-milk yogurt

1⁄3 cup canola oil

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Peppermint Filling

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

2. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat together sugars, yogurt, oil, eggs, and vanilla on medium speed until mixed, about 3 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed. Reduce mixer speed to low; gradually add flour mixture and mix for 30 seconds. Cover and refrigerate batter until chilled, about 30 minutes.

3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Transfer batter to a pastry bag fitted with a large plain tip (about ½ inch wide). Pipe 2-inch circles onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing whoopies 1½ inches apart. (Keep batter refrigerated between batches.)

4. Bake until whoopies spring back when touched, about 9 minutes. Cool completely on pans.

5. To fill pies: Turn half the whoopies over so they’re bottom-side up. Using a pastry bag or butter knife, add a dollop (1½ tablespoons) of Peppermint Filling onto each whoopee bottom. Top with remaining whoopies.

Peppermint Filling

Makes 2 cups. Working time 10 min. Total time 10 min.

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

5 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

½ teaspoon peppermint extract

1⁄8 teaspoon salt

3 cups confectioners’ sugar, plus more if needed

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat together cream cheese and butter on medium speed until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed. Reduce mixer speed to low; add peppermint extract and salt, and mix for 30 seconds. Gradually add confectioners’ sugar and mix for 1 minute. If filling is too soft to hold its shape, add more confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency. (Store in refrigerator, in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed onto surface of filling, for up to 5 days.)

Nana Cookies

Makes 36 cookies. Working time 25 min. Total time 40 min.

2½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon ground cloves

¼ teaspoon salt

6 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening, at room temperature

½ stick unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup sugar

1 large egg, plus 1 large egg yolk

¼ cup whole milk

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cloves, and salt. Set aside.

2. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat together shortening, butter, and sugar on medium speed until light yellow and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed. Add egg and egg yolk, and beat for 1 minute.

3. Reduce mixer speed to low; add a third of flour mixture and a third of milk, and mix for 30 seconds. Scrape down sides of bowl. Repeat. Add remaining flour mixture and only enough milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, to yield a smooth dough, and mix. (It should not be too sticky.)

4. Preheat oven to 350°F. Transfer batter to a pastry bag fitted with a star tip (about ½ inch wide). Pipe 4-inch-long cookies onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing 1 inch apart. (Keep batter refrigerated between batches.)

5. Bake cookies until lightly golden around edges, about 15 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Cream Cheese Shortbread with Toasted Walnuts

Makes 36 cookies. Working time 15 min. Total time 30 min.

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped

1½ sticks unsalted butter, softened

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

¾ cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add chopped walnuts and stir to combine. Set aside.

2. Preheat oven to 350°F. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat together butter, cream cheese, and sugar on medium speed until light yellow and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed. Add vanilla and mix for 1 minute. Reduce mixer speed to low; gradually add flour mixture and mix for 20 seconds. Take bowl off mixer and finish mixing dough with a rubber spatula.

3. Roll about 1½ tablespoons of dough into a ball. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and gently press to flatten top. Repeat with remaining dough, spacing 1 inch apart.

4. Bake cookies until light brown around edges, 14 to 16 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Chocolate-Pistachio Biscotti

Makes 48 biscotti. Working time 25 min. Total time 1 hr. 35 min.

4 navel oranges

2 cups sugar

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

¾ cup shelled pistachios, unsalted

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

Fleur de sel, if desired

1. Cut long, thin strips of zest (avoid white pith) from oranges. Place zest in a small saucepan, add enough water to cover, and bring to a boil over high heat. Then drain off water. Repeat boiling and draining process 2 more times. Set aside.

2. In a medium saucepan, bring 1½ cups water and 1 cup sugar to a boil. Add zest and simmer for 4 minutes. Set aside to cool.

3. Place chocolate chips in a food processor and pulse 3 or 4 times to break up. Add pistachios and pulse 2 or 3 times.

4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

5. Preheat oven to 350°F. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat together butter and remaining sugar on medium speed until light yellow and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs and beat on medium speed until incorporated, 2 to 3 minutes.

6. Reduce mixer speed to low; using a slotted spoon, add candied orange zest to buttersugar mixture and beat for 30 seconds. Gradually add three-fourths flour mixture, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Add chocolate-pistachio mixture and remaining flour mixture, mixing until dough just comes together. Do not overmix.

7. Divide dough into 2 equal pieces and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Using damp hands, shape each piece into a 12-inch-long log, ½ inch high.

8. Bake logs until firm, about 24 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through. Reduce oven temperature to 250°F. Cool logs on baking sheet for 12 to 15 minutes.

9. Transfer logs to a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, slice each into 24 half inch- thick biscotti. Place biscotti on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing ½ inch apart. Sprinkle with fleur de sel, if desired. Bake biscotti until slightly crisp, about 10 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Step 2: Wrap It Up!

· Cherry vintage tins add a personal touch to baked goods. Striped and polka-dot patterned tins, paired with contrasting ribbon or wrapping paper add a unique touch.

· Take a bakery fresh approach with printed paper bags. This bright idea is reminiscent of childhood fun at the country fair.

· Mini-Bundt, cupcake, and loaf pans double as “boxes” that recipients can put to good use. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

· Mason-jars are a sweet way to wrap up treats. Don’t have any on hand? Try an empty honey or jam jar. Short on time? Layer the dry ingredients into the jar, secure the lid then write the remaining directions on the tag. Don’t forget a bow!

· For a professional finish, reinvent old holiday cards with stamps and scissors to create a personal tag without spending a dime!
